Let your child’s creativity blossom as they delve into the world of embroidery, inspired by the iconic designs of Augustus Pugin.
WHAT?
Nottingham Cathedral has collaborated with Mary Broddle Embroidery to bring you this engaging and hands-on workshop. You will learn the basics of embroidery while exploring Pugin’s fascinating motifs and patterns.
Under the guidance of Mary Broddle, young artisans will experiment with various stitches and techniques to bring their own unique designs to life on fabric.
WHEN?
Date: 28th May 2024
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Venue: Cathedral Hall, Nottingham Cathedral, Derby Rd, Nottingham; enter via the main Cathedral entrance and walk through to the main community hall in the garden at the rear of the church.
WHY?
This class not only fosters artistic expression but also enhances fine motor skills, patience, and attention to detail in a fun and supportive environment. Each participant will leave with a sense of accomplishment and a beautifully crafted masterpiece to cherish.
WHO?
This workshop is designed for children aged 7 and up. No prior embroidery experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are welcome to join in the workshop too; if you want to please book an additional place for yourself.
